Chelmsford City have announced the signing of former Charlton Athletic striker Chris Dickson.

The 32-year-old frontman links up with the Clarets following a short spell with National League side Sutton United.

Previously he had gleaned a wealth of Football League experience, not only with the Addicks but also at Crewe Alexandra, Gillingham, Bristol Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Dickson also spent time playing abroad, most recently with Cypriot First Division club Ermis Aradippou.

Clarets boss Rod Stringer was delighted with his latest capture, stating: “Chris brings valuable experience and know-how to the side. We are pleased to have him on board and I’m sure he will make a big impact here at the Melbourne Stadium.”

Dickson will be available for the Clarets clash with Whitehawk at the Melbourne Stadium tomorrow.
