Boston United have signed former Bradford Park Avenue and Stockport County striker Lamin Colley.

Colley joined Avenue from then Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North side Harrogate Railway Athletic in October 2014 but it was agreed that the deal would not be completed whilst Rail were still in the FA Cup.boston united

Colley originally linked up with Rail boss Billy Miller at Liversedge FC as a young 17-year-old on loan from Farsley Celtic and returned to re-establish that link at Railway.

He represented the England Colleges in a 2-0 win over Wales whilst at Farsley & Leeds City College in 2011.

The 6`4” striker made twenty -one appearances for Avenue and played a crucial role in their strong end to the campaign before moving to Stockport in May 2015.

But after a goalless ten league appearances for the Hatters, he re-joined Avenue.

Visibly improved, Colley proved a handful as he begun to start matches and form a partnership with Chib Chilaka.

Towards the end of the season, he was used as a lone front man supported by loanee Reece Webb-Foster, the combination effectively used as Colley netted the opener in the West Riding County Cup final.

He scored 6 goals in eighteen appearances in all competitions last term for Avenue, and is also registered with Scarborough Athletic for the forthcoming campaign.

The 23-year-old Gambian is Dennis Greene’s eleventh summer signing and could feature in Tuesday evening’s opening pre-season friendly against Boston Town, which is the day of his 23rd birthday.
