Vanarama National League North club AFC Telford United have confirmed that striker Lee Hughes will not be staying with the club next season.

The Bucks released a short statement to announce that the former West Bromwich Albion and Notts County striker has told manager Rob Smith that he is taking his first steps into management with another club.




As yet that club or the role Hughes will take has not been revealed.

Hughes joined the Bucks in February after spells with Worcester City, Kidderminster Harriers and Ilkeston.
 
The club statement read “AFC Telford United can confirm Lee Hughes will not be staying on at the club for next season.
 
Hughes confirmed to Bucks boss Rob Smith that he will be taking a managerial role at another club next season and won’t be staying on at AFC Telford United for another year.
 
Everyone at the club would like to thank Lee for all his efforts in securing the clubs National League North status. We wish him all the very best in his next chapter in his career”
