Martin Carruthers has been named as the new manager of Quorn AFC.

The former Stoke City and Southend United forward left Basford United along with right-hand man Mark Clifford in early-March. The pair achieved two promotions and a number of cup wins during their time at the club.

They left Basford in 9th place in the Evo-Stik Premier, and as joint-leading scorers in the division at the time.

Carruthers, whose playing career also included spells at Scunthorpe and Peterborough United, takes over at Quorn as they get set to move to the United Counties League Premier Division next season.
