Bradford Park Avenue have signed former Chelsea defender Ben Gordon

National League side Chester FC confirmed that Gordon has been released by them in January.

The 24-year-old arrived at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium at the end of October 2015.

He signed on non-contract forms but found opportunities limited and was unable to break into the team.

Gordon’s sole outing for Chester came in the 10-1 routing of Winsford United in the Cheshire Senior Cup on November 30th.

The Bradford-born left-back began his career in the Leeds United academy before being snapped up by Chelsea in 2007.

While at Stamford Bridge he had loan spells with Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe and Birmingham City, before moving to Yeovil Town in 2013

He then switched to Ross County before signing last season for Colchester United, who released him in the summer of 2015.

Gordon was an unused substitute in the National League on three occasions for Chester.
