The former Harrogate Town chairman Bill Fotherby has died.
Fotherby, who was Harrogate chairman from 2000 to 2011, passed away at the age of 88 while holidaying in Tenerife with his family.
Fotherby was managing director at Leeds United and briefly held the role of chairman. He was an integral part of the appointment of manager Howard Wilkinson, who went on to lead the club to the First Division title in 1991/92.
In the past few years, he was also director of football at Ossett Town.
