Dorchester Town goalkeeper Chris Weale admitted he is enjoying playing under Magpies’ manager Steve Thompson more than previous boss Craig Laird.

Weale’s comments were made in relation to the Magpies’ lack of creation under Laird, when they suffered several heavy defeats in the early stages of the season.

But now Weale feels Dorchester are playing “entertaining” football and can compete for the whole 90 minutes.

He told Echosport: “I’m enjoying it more now than under the previous management. I think the fans are as well. You can see we’re creating a lot more chances and playing some really good football, and it’s entertaining.

“As a goalkeeper you now know that we’re going to create some chances and be in a game for 90 minutes, whereas earlier on in the season it felt like if we conceded we didn’t really stand a chance of getting anything out of the game.

“So I’m enjoying it a lot more and I know the manager anyway. He’s very focused, very dedicated and really wants everyone to do well here. It’s only going in the right way.”
