Hythe Town have appointed Steve Watt as their new manager.

The 34-year-old former Chelsea youngster was in charge of Margate until May last year, and he has now been named as the successor to Sam Denly at the BetVictor Isthmian League South East Division club.

On the appointment of the former Maidstone United man, chairman Paul Markland told the club’s website: “We had many applicants for the role and many were standout candidates. We are delighted to have secured the services of Steve Watt, an ambitious and experienced manager and football man who we believe will get our promotion push back on track.”

Watt said: “I am excited to join an ambitious club who I believe have great potential for the future. I think that there are great days ahead for Hythe Town FC and I believe we can achieve our goals.”
