St Albans City have announced the signing of 23-year-old creative midfielder Matt Ball.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international is a product of Norwich City’s youth team, having joined the club at the age of 12.
He captained the Academy side during the 2010/11 season and his step up to the reserves was rewarding as the midfielder found the net 8 times in fourteen games.
Ball signed for League Two side Stevenage prior to the 2012/13 season and in February 2013 he secured a one-month loan move to Farnborough.
After a loan spell at Farnborough, the youngster made his debut for the pro ranks at Swindon Town in April 2013, coming on as a 75th minute sub. He then made his first start against MK Dons in the final game of the season.
He has had two loan spells with Boro, the latest starting from January 2014 and lasting until the end of the 2013/14 season.
Ball left Stevenage at the end of the 2013/14 season and signed for Farnborough in August 2014 following an impressive return to the Hampshire club in pre-season.
He then joined National League South rivals Wealdstone in 2014 where he went on to make sixty-one appearances.
