Former Huddersfield Town academy coach Dave Haley is the new manager of Evo-Stik League Ossett Albion.

The UEFA A licensed and elite youth development coach, pictured, was unveiled on Wednesday as the successor to Richard Tracey who is staying on at Dimple Wells in a recruitment role. He stepped down after four and half years at the helm following his side’s heavy 5-2 defeat at home to Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday night.

Haley, who has also coached in America and was at the Terriers for 13 years before leaving the Premier League newboys in 2016, will be assisted by former Sunderland midfielder Andy Welsh who was head of coaching at Wigan Athletic until recently.

After their appointments were confirmed in a club statement, the pair will take charge of the second-from-bottom Unicorns for the first time in EVO-STIK League North at Bamber Bridge on Saturday. They’ll be hoping to quickly turn around a poor start to the season that has seen their new charges take just one point from their opening eight games.
