Weston-super-Mare have announced the departure of Clayton Fortune.

Head coach Scott Bartlett is building a squad for the future and bringing in players who weston new badgehave the potential of long-term development and service to the club.

As such Fortune is not part of Bartlett`s plans going forward.

He has given loyal service to the club throughout two spells at the Woodspring Stadium and has been a very popular member of the squad, and during the current season Fortune has been a good captain.

In releasing Fortune from his contract now, Bartlett hopes this will assist him in finding another club very shortly.

Fortune said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club. The players are amazing both on and off the pitch. Some of the weirdest but best I’ve come across in football. The fans and staff, from the stewards to the Boardroom have been great since day one and I wish the club the very best in the future. I will keep an eye on the results and the club will have a place in my heart and maybe I’ll return in another capacity”.
