St Ives Town have announced that centre-forward Danny Watson has agreed to rejoin the club.

Manager Ricky Marheineke has acted quickly in strengthening the squad following the news that Dubi Ogbonna could be facing some time on the sidelines due to a reoccurrence of the knee problem that kept him out for six weeks of last season.

Watson is no stranger to the Ives fans following his outstanding contribution during the famous promotion season of 2015/16. He finished top goalscorer that season, netting an impressive 19 goals including a wonderful volley against AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the last few minutes of the play off final.

Following his departure in the summer of 15/16, he joined Bedford Town before moving to Barton Rovers mid-way through that season. His goals for Barton helped them to reach the play-off final before they were beaten in that game by Farnborough.

This season he signed for St. Neots Town before returning to Barton Rovers.
