Dorking Wanderers believe they have made a statement of intent with the quality of their four new signings.
The Isthmian League Premier Division club have snapped up Jason Prior, Kieran Lavery, Niall McManus and Sami El-Abd. Prolific striker Prior joins from Havant & Waterlooville after scoring the goal that secured the south coast club’s promotion to the National League.
The 29-year-old signed as a professional for League Two AFC Wimbledon in 2012, only to see his opportunities cut short by a broken leg, but has been a prolific striker at every level of non-league football, including scoring 95 league goals in 126 games for Bognor Regis Town.
“When it became known that I would be leaving Havant for family reasons, Dorking Wanderers showed the most interest in me,” he said.
“I know midfielders Lewis Taylor and Luke Moore who spoke really highly of the club to me and I liked the style of play I saw from Dorking when we met in the FA Trophy last season. So I’m really pleased to be here and have the chance to score the goals that help the club push for promotion.”
