Welling United manager Mark Goldberg has added four new signings at Park View Road ahead of their Vanarama National South campaign for 2016/17.
Twenty-seven-year-old midfielder Danny Waldren signed for the Wings from Ryman League Premier Division side Dulwich Hamlet.
Waldren is a player the Wings manager knows well from the Bromley Conference South title-winning side.
“I’m pleased with our initial signings as we re-build our squad for the future,” Goldberg said. “Number one signing is Danny Waldren, who for many years has captained my sides. Danny led Bromley in my Conference South title-winning year.
“Danny is a great player and most importantly he is a great character and a leader on the park.”
Next up were the signings of full-backs Mitchell Nelson, a 26-year-old right-back also signed from Dulwich Hamlet and Jordan Brown, another signing from Champion Hill and a 24-year-old who plies his trade at left-back.
The Wings boss added: “Both Jordan Brown and Mitchell Nelson, who I have admired as opposition in the past, have great pedigree, strength and pace to provide a solid foundation at the back.”
Goldberg completed his foursome of new additions by capturing the services of 22-year-old left-sided defender and winger Oliver Sprague from another Ryman Premier outfit, Hendon.
“Oliver Sprague is a young talent who has already been very much on the radar of the England C team, giving us options at left-back and left wing,” added Goldberg.
