Nuneaton Borough manager Nicky Eaden has left the club by mutual consent.

Assistant manager Lee Fowler will take over the reins with immediate effect ahead of the Brackley Town FA Trophy match on Saturday. Eaden came in during the summer, with virtually no staff in place, and had to build a squad two months after his counterparts had concluded their pre-season plans.

What looked like a positive start, with draws in the opening two matches, quickly fell off as the Boro’ consistently failed to find the net. A run of seven league matches without a win, plus elimination from the FA Cup, ultimately had new chairman Nick Hawkins looking to move in a different direction.

“With a heavy heart, myself and Nicky have agreed that a change of direction is best for Nuneaton Borough Football Club at this time. Nicky and his team have worked in difficult circumstances throughout his tenure and I appreciate, as do the fans and players alike, his efforts and commitment to the cause.

“On behalf of the club, we wish Nicky every success in his future. He has so much to offer and I know in better circumstances he will excel. I trust the Boro’ faithful will be fully behind us and continue to give Lee and the team the support that they have shown in previous matches.”
