Bryan Hughes says Mike Fondop still has a future at Wrexham, The Leader report.
The striker joined the Reds last summer on a two-year deal following spells with Halifax Town and Guiseley and made a stunning start to his spell at The Racecourse.
Following a prolific pre-season, Fondop scored five times in the opening six games of the 2018-19 campaign, the last goal coming in the 2-2 draw with Bromley on August 25.
But the goals dried up and although Fondop was on target in the 3-0 FA Trophy win against Boston United in December, he fell down the pecking order and was loaned to Maidenhead United in February.
ondop has 12 months remaining on his contract and Hughes hopes the frontman can rediscover his early season form when he returns after the summer break.
“Mike was lacking in confidence when I came in and he had a frustrating second half of the season,” said Hughes.
“He went on loan to Maidenhead and got a red card in his second game which meant he missed three games, and then he found it hard to get back in.”
