FC Halifax Town manager Jamie Fullarton says his focus is now fully on next season after The Shaymen’s 2017-18 campaign came to an end at the weekend.

The Scot guided Town to safety with two games to spare, losing only three of his 12 games in charge. Most of the Town players are believed to be out of contract this summer, and Fullarton says now the season is over, he will be starting work on shaping his squad.

“Our focus has always been on the games. People may have thought that when we got safe, which was realistically five or six games ago, it was time to start looking ahead then.

“No, we’re constantly looking to plan for next season, that’s been from day one. That takes secondary importance to the games, but now the season’s over, it’s important our focus is now on next season.

“First and foremost, we’ll look in-house. You recruit from within initially, and you have to treat players with the respect that you ask of them, and that’s what we’ll do in the coming days.”
