Manager Darrell Clarke branded Rory Gaffney’s swap to Salford City a “good bit of business” for Bristol Rovers.
Rory Gaffney signed for the famously ambitious Salford City FC on June 15.
Irishman Gaffney joined the National League newcomers for an undisclosed fee , but while Clarke would not discuss a figure he said he was happy with the transfer fee.
Explaining the move Clarke said: “Rory wanted to leave, he wanted more first team opportunities. I understand that.
“We got a decent fee for him so that was a good bit of business from our point of view with Rory. We thank him for his efforts but he was keen to play more regularly and he saw Salford as a good opportunity for him and there is certainly no gripes from me.
“I understand it and that’s football.”
