Saturday’s 2-0 win over play-off chasing Stockport was a big and important three points for Kidderminster Harriers, says Head of Coaching Matt Gardiner.
Harriers had a tough ask on their hands to keep up their impressive home form as they welcomed a Hatters side to Worcestershire that hadn’t been beaten since last November.
The reds put bodies on the line to defend and scored two excellent goals to wrap up the win, though.
Speaking after the final whistle, Gardiner’s satisfaction was evident.
He said: “You can see where Stockport’s strengths are and why they haven’t lost since November.
“It was going to be a tough game and we have managed it very well.
“The lads were excellent and to come away with a 2-0 win, we’re very pleased.
“It was always going to be a battle today as Stockport are a good team but we did what we needed to do and I’m pleased for all of the players.”
Harriers are next in action when they travel to Brackley Town on Tuesday night.
