Margate have announced that Striker Freddie Ladapo has left the club to join Premier League side Crystal Palace on a two and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 23 year old striker joined the Blues in January 2015 from Kidderminster Harriers and notched 10 league goals this season in the clubs debut campaign in the Vanarama National League South.
Ladapo scored the first goal of Nikki Bull’s reign as Manager in the Blues 1-0 win over Gosport in December 2015 and followed it up a week later with the winning goal at Hartsdown Park on Boxing Day as the Gate saw off rivals Maidstone United.
Freddie’s most accomplished display while in a Gate shirt was undoubtedly this season as he shone in Margate’s 2-1 away win at Ebbsfleet United where Ladapo received high praise for his hold up play and overall performance.
After spending time on trial with Alan Pardew’s Eagles, Ladapo impressed the coaching staff at the Premier League club enough to be offered a contract and now makes the move to Selhurst Park.
