Vanarama National League club Gateshead have completed the loan signing of AFC Wimbledon midfielder Tom Beere.
Beere joins from the SkyBet League One club , with his initial loan spell ending on 11th March.
The 22-year-old has spent loan spells at Bishop’s Stortford and Hampton and Richmond Borough earlier in his career.
He has made twenty eight appearances for the Dons, with the latest coming in January’s 0-0 draw against Chesterfield.
He played a key part in the club’s SkyBet League Two play-off success last season, scoring a stoppage time winner in their semi-final first leg win over Accrington Stanley at Kingsmeadow.
The Dons drew the second leg against Stanley, before beating Plymouth Argyle in the final at Wembley, meaning that they are currently plying their trade in English football’s third tier for the first time in their history.
Speaking to the AFC Wimbledon website, Dons assistant coach Neil Cox said “Tom asked to go out on loan so we made a call to do a deal with Gateshead for a month. It’s beneficial for both clubs because he needed to play.
He went on loan last year to Hampton, before returning and scoring a really important goal for us against Accrington, so hopefully this will be another good move for him.”
Beere will hope to make his Heed debut in Saturday’s National League fixture at Chester, a game that will be shown live on BT Sport.
