AFC Wimbledon midfielder Tom Beere will stay with Vanarama National League club Gateshead for another month after the two clubs agreed to extend his loan deal with the Tynesiders.
Beere has made five appearances as a substitute for Neil Aspin’s in-form side, who have pushed their way into the play-off spots with six wins in a row.
The deal does have a recall option, meaning AFC Wimbledon can take Beere back at any point during the month.
Heed boss Neil Aspin told the club’s official website that he was “delighted” to have the midfielder for another month.
He said “We’re delighted to extend Tom’s loan.
“He came here to play games and at the moment he hasn’t started and he’s obviously desperate to play.
“But he has made a positive impact on the team because the team are winning and it keeps Paddy (McLaughlin) and Gus (Mafuta) on their toes because Tom is a direct rival for a spot in the side.
“When he’s came on he’s always played very well as you’d expect so he’s been patient and I’m sure his chance will come because I know he’ll be desperate to take it”
Beere will be in the Gateshead squad when they travel to Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night as they look to maintain their impressive form.
