Gateshead midfielder Lewis Maloney has returned to former club Whitby Town on a one-month loan deal until 10 November.
Maloney played 25 games for The Seasiders in the Northern Premier League last season, scoring five goals.
The 23-year-old midfielder signed a one-year deal with the Tynesiders in the summer and has featured twice so far this season in the National League.
Gateshead boss Steve Watson said in his pre-match press conference: “Now is the time where we can look at getting a couple (of players) out on loan to get some games like we did last season.”
The former Middlesbrough trainee will now spend a month at the Turnbull Ground and has been granted permission to play for Whitby in the FA Trophy before joining back up with the Heed squad.
