It has been a long two and a half years for Gateshead midfielder JJ O’Donnell but now he is ready to resume his playing career after an injury nightmare.

The Heed star was diagnosed with Sesamoiditis, a condition that causes inflammation in the bones under the toes.

He recently made a playing comeback in a friendly against Newcastle United Under-23s but on Saturday he was back in the Neil Aspin’s squad for their game at Dover Athletic.

NLDTV made the trip to the International Stadium to speak to him about his comeback.
