Gateshead have completed the loan signing of Newcastle United defender Callum Williams.
Williams is the latest Magpies youngster to cross the River Tyne after the likes of Liam Gibson and Paul Woolston spent time with the Heed in the last two seasons.
He made thirty three appearances for the Premier League club’s Under 23s last season and was part of a Magpies line-up that beat Gateshead in a pre-season friendly at the International Stadium last month.
The twenty year old was actually named as a substitute for the Magpies first team when they beat West Bromwich Albion at St James Park in February 2016, although he is still to make an appearance for Rafa Benitez’s side.
Williams has been handed the number twenty four shirt at Gateshead and could make his debut when they host Guiseley at the International Stadium on Tuesday night.
Both clubs have confirmed that the loan will end on 6th January 2018.
