Chester have announced that midfielder Luke George has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old arrived last summer from Southport – of whom he captained for the 2014/15 season.

It was an injury hit season for George, but he still chipped in with a goal against Forest Green and Captained the Blues on numerous occasions over the 2015/16 National League campaign.

George was delighted to extend his stay at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium, and said: “I have unfinished business.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here so far, but I do have unfinished business – I want to stay injury free and kick on next season.

“Last season was very frustrating personally. Macca and Sharpy have done brilliantly, we’ve seen a massive change and that was a big factor for me.”
