Bath City must build on the legacy of a season to be proud off, says manager Jerry Gill.

Speaking after a gut-wrenching National League South play-off eliminator defeat to Wealdstone on Wednesday night, the Romans chief was nevertheless pleased with what his side achieved over the course of the campaign.

City reached the play-offs for the first time in seven seasons, since their previous promotion to the ten Conference in 2010, with a number of memorable highlights along the way.

On the night against Wealdstone, however, their endeavours came to an end in a 3-1 defeat, which left Gill “hurting” for his players.

“[It’s] difficult, because there’s a lot of emotion running through my body at the moment and I said that to the players,” he said after the game.

“I’m deeply upset for them, I’m hurting for them. They’ve given me everything this season they possibly can with their bodies.”
