Gloucester City have announced that the club’s youth set-up has now been upgraded to academy status.

With the change happening with immediate effect for the National League North club, co-chairman Alex Petheram told the club’s website:

“I am delighted to announce this positive development in the club’s set-up and history. It’s one that I’m hoping will assist us as a club to achieve our long-term goal of obtaining Football League status.

“Changing the youth structure will not only benefit our youngsters but will help our coaches and the wider community.”
