Gloucester City coach Mike Green is donating a kidney to his sister.

The Tigers legend, who will not be around the club for the next three months, has been praised for his “courageous” act to help his sibling, who is suffering from a serious illness.

He was given a good send-off by Gloucester as they beat Darlington 2-1 in National League North on Saturday in what was his final game before his absence.

“We said after the game on Saturday that the result pales into insignificance when someone does a great and unselfish act like that for his sister,” said Gloucester City manager Mike Cook.
