Gloucester City have been given approval by The Football Stadia Improvement Fund for work to begin on their new Meadow Park stadium.
The team are playing this season in the Vanarama National League North, with Mike Cook’s team currently 13th in the table and two points off the play-off places after 17 games. Together with their on-pitch progress, the club now have the green light they have been waiting for to start construction on the site.
The club explain that the two new seated stands, which each hold 350 seats and will be positioned either side of the existing changing rooms, have been ordered. The steel structure for the new ‘T-End’ and opposite terrace have also been placed for delivery with Dorchester-based Snashall Steel.
Soldi are the principal contractor for the build and are expected to take over the site with construction hopefully this side of Christmas, the club add.
