Gloucester City have said they are targeting 9th December as the date to have their new manager appointed by.

The National League North leaders confirmed the departure yesterday of James Rowe, who is expected to be announced as Chesterfield’s new manager shortly.




The first match of the season without Rowe in charge ended in defeat, as they were beaten 1-0 at Gateshead last night.

It was the Tigers’ first league loss of the campaign, though they remain six points clear at the top of the table.

The club have released a timeline of objectives for the next managerial appointment, which reads:

Applications submitted by 30th Nov

Interviews held from 2nd Dec onwards.

Target appointment date 9th Dec.

First training sessions on 10/11th Dec.

First match day on 12th Dec.
