AFC Telford United chief Gavin Cowan is convinced striker Andre Brown is on the brink of a scoring spree, report the Shropshire Star.

Twenty-two-year-old Brown has impressed with his pace and power up top for the Bucks.

He has netted just twice, 10 games into the season, but Cowan has backed him to become one of the most prolific goal-getters in National League North.

“I thought Andre was magnificent,” he said, when asked about Brown’s performance in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Stockport County.

“It’s just not falling for him at the moment. He had a couple of chances in the first half.

“I thought he was excellent. All I asked from him was belief, conviction and courage – and that is what he gave me.

“I can’t knock him. Goals will come for Andre. He’s an absolute handful.”
