Gosport Borough have announced an update to the club’s badge.
The club say that the new design incorporates the Boro’s traditional colours of blue and old gold, and is part of a major rebrand of the club over the summer, which includes repainting the main stand and revamping the stadium’s signage.
Operations board adviser Colin Farmery said: “The old crest of the club was strongly linked with the town, but it didn’t really give us an identity as a football club. The new design takes the roundel concept, made popular recently by the likes of Pompey, Manchester City and Chelsea, and incorporates the traditional viking longboat and town motto.
“We have worked with our designer Lhea Barrett, who works at Creative Needle, and he has done a fantastic job to create a suite of variations of the crest, depending on the use.”
