Oxford City manager Mark Jones has continued his squad building work with the re-signing of Freddie Grant.
Grant impressed in his first season at the club and Jones couldn’t hide his delight in agreeing terms: “I’m pleased that Freddie has agreed to sign. I felt he performed very well last season, a good young full back who can also play in other positions.
“He is a good young player at only 20 years of age and we hope to see even more from him as we continue to work together.”
Jones outlined further plans for his squad for the upcoming campaign and was keen to stress the importance of youth within his squad: “We are again hoping to further develop our young players already at the club. The likes of Jordi Ngathe, Matt Peake-Pijnen, Sammy Khawaja and Jack Tutton are very much in our thinking, we won’t be operating with a huge squad with a core of fourteen or fifteen players
“There will be opportunities for our young players. We do not want to have a massive squad which blocks the path of our young players who each have so much potential”.
