Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Grantham Town have unveiled Alex Cross as their new academy manager.
A UEFA B qualified coach with a degree in Sports Coaching, the 23-year-old already works for Notts County and will combine his work for the League Two club with his role at the Meres heading up the new Gingerbreads academy when it opens in September.
Cross said: “I am delighted to have been offered such a post as it is exactly the kind of opportunity and challenge I have been looking for.
“It is clear to me that the club has tremendous potential, great facilities, and a group of people backing it with the necessary resources ambition and drive to make this a flagship academy in the East Midlands.”
Grantham Town director Roger Booth welcomed Cross to the Premier Division club in a statement announcing his appointment.
Booth said: “We are absolutely delighted to have attracted a young coach of Alex’s capability. His attitude and energy impressed all at the club and he will undoubtedly go on to have an outstanding career.
