Martin McIntosh has confirmed he has been sacked as Grantham Town manager.

The former Buxton manager took over at the Northern Premier Division side back in early-March, but he tweeted this afternoon: “With great disappointment, despite my commitment to continue as manager of Grantham Town FC, following a meeting this morning with chairman Darren Ashton, I have been officially sacked.”

Ex-Rotherham United, Stockport County and Huddersfield Town defender McIntosh has had spells at Ilkeston Town and Frickley Athletic since leaving his role at Buxton in February 2018 after six years.

It has been a difficult 2020/21 campaign so far for Grantham, who have taken three points from their opening eight league games.
