Charlie Griffin has appointed former Forest Green Rovers star Paul ‘Oggie’ Hunt as his number two at Evo-Stik League Southern Cirencester Town.
It is a case of déjà vu for Hunt, who was assistant manager to Adi Viveash when he was at the helm of Evo-Stik League Southern’s Centurions.
Hunt, who has also played for Swindon Town and Cirencester, had been helping out at Hellenic outfit Purton this season before his return to the Corinium Stadium at the weekend.
Griffin, who succeeded Brian Hughes last week, hailed the return of Hunt before the duo guided the Gloucestershire outfit to a 0-0 draw at high-flying Hitchin in the Evo-Stik League Southern’s top flight on Saturday.
He told the Stroud News and Journal: “I’ve known Oggie for a long time and we see a lot of each other on the UEFA B Licence course we have been doing. He’s football mad, full of enthusiasm, and we had a very positive meeting.”
