Vanarama National League North play-off challengers Salford City have confirmed that their Moor Lane home has been handed ‘Category C’ status.

The Ammies have been hard at work this season with Moor Lane going under a major redevelopment.

On Tuesday evening they released a statement confirmed that they had been met the criteria required to achieve category C status.

The statement read “We were informed by letter today that Moor Lane has been awarded Category B grading – the standard required in order to compete at National League North level.

It has been a huge task to redevelop Moor Lane safely and quickly, staging games at the same time. Ongoing work should ensure that the A grade should be achievable when it becomes necessary.

We’d like to offer a big thank-you to all those involved with the redevelopment project – a fine achievement with very tight deadlines to meet.

The Ammies march on, both on and off the pitch – next season is already a mouthwatering prospect”

They currently sit in fourth place in the National League North and face a trip to Gainsborough Trinity on Friday.
