Guiseley AFC have added experience to their back line with the signing of centre-back Scott Garner from Halifax Town.
Garner will be the older head for a group of defenders in their early twenties in Niall Heaton, Will Thornton, Louie Swain and Harry Flowers. The 28-year-old Garner joined FC Halifax Town from Boston United and was a vital part of the Town squad that gained promotion to the National League two seasons ago.
His previous clubs include Mansfield Town, Grimsby Town, Cambridge United and Lincoln City. A product of the Leicester City youth system Garner signed a professional contract with the Foxes but never made a first team appearance.
Twice capped by England C Garner said: “I like to think that I’m a winner. I don’t like to lose at all.”
