Torquay United player-manager Kevin Nicholson was in upbeat mood after watching his side create enough chances to win, but have to settle for point at Plainmoor.
“I’m disappointed we haven’t got the three points, but aside from that there isn’t any disappointment” said Kevin
“The performance was our best so far; I think the players have got a lot to be proud of.
“With any game if you don’t take your chances to put it to bed with the second goal you leave yourself open to the second goal, or a wonder strike, or anything like that. They’ve had a deflection today and got a goal; I think it was undeserved. I thought we deserved to win the game.
“I think the lads have tried to follow instructions, they’ve put themselves on the line and fought physically and they’ve played some good stuff at times.
“Overall I’m very happy with them today.”
Captain Courtney Richards came off with a hamstring injury and will be assessed by physio Gareth Law. It’s too early to say how long Richards will be out for.
“He [Richards] went in for a challenge which was fine, but when he got up and tried to sprint for the next one his hamstring went. It now comes down to how bad a tear or strain it is. It could be a couple of weeks, it could be six, you just don’t know at this stage.
“We’ll be replacing him with Damon Lathrope, who was probably unfortunate not to play today. So he gets a chance to come out and show what he can do. He’ll have the bit between his teeth because he didn’t start today.”
