Torquay United chairman Clarke Osborne has hailed the momentum created at the club after Gary Johnson delivered the National League South title.

Speaking to the club’s website after their immediate return to the National League was sealed, he said:

“I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone connected with and supporting Torquay United AFC. I am delighted beyond words and so proud of the whole team both on and off the pitch.

“In the last two seasons we have experienced disappointment, frustration, anger, joy and pride and have now experienced the euphoria of winning a league. The Yellow Army have been fantastic in their commitment and support both home and away this season and I want to thank you all.

“We have momentum and can now push forward for more success and more promotions. Everyone involved with this fine club has given their best for which I know we are all very grateful.

“A brilliant job, very, very well done. Thank you.”
