Torquay United have officially parted company with former assistant and caretaker manager Robbie Herrera.
Club stalwart Herrera, 47, had been No.2 to ex-player-manager Kevin Nicholson and then took the first team for six games before the recent appointments of Gary Owers and Martin Kuhl.
He had effectively been on ‘gardening leave’ since then, but general manager Geoff Harrop reported: “We have spoken at length with Robbie and looked at ways to see if we could utilise his experience.
“But Robbie felt that he needs a fresh challenge, and we have supported him in that.”
