Torquay United defender Ben Gerring has been recalled from his loan at Vanarama National League South side Truro City.

Gerring has made five appearances for the White Tigers.

Speaking to the Gulls official website player-manager Kevin Nicholson said Gerring has a chance to earn himself a longer future at Plainmoor.

Nicholson said “This is a big chance for ‘Gez’ to come back in and show me that he is worth a contract for next season,”

“The reason he went to Truro was to get game time and show me that I made a mistake to allow him out. He’s had a good time at Truro and contributed, and now he has to come back to us with the right attitude as I believe every fit player will be needed to get the job this season”
