Torquay United are delighted to announce that striker, Brett Williams, has agreed to sign for the club.
Williams, 28, joins the club after a spells with Stevenage and Forest Green Rovers last season.
The instinctive striker scored in the first leg of the National League play-off semi-final against Dover to help Forest Green reach the Promotion Final.
Williams shot to prominence with Aldershot Town where he scored 36 goals in seventy-seven appearances.
“I think this signing will please a few fans,” said player-manager Kevin Nicholson. “Brett is a proven goalscorer at this level. He did well at Forest Green last season and before that did very well at Aldershot where he pretty much averaged one in two.
“He’ll bring competition for places up front along with Nathan Blissett and Shaun Harrad who we are hoping to bring back. If we can add Shaun then I think we’ll have a potent strike force.
“It’s so far, so good with the signings we have been able to make. There’s a little more work to do in building the squad, then a lot more work to start pre-season well and reach our goals. I think Brett will be a big part of this.
Williams joins Damon Lathrope, Aman Verma, Nathan Blissett, Angus MacDonald, Luke Young, Ben Gerring, Sam Chaney, and Will Hancox in committing to the club after contract talks.
