Bostik League Premier club Bishop`s Stortford have bolstered their defensive options by acquiring the services of Mark Haines on a month`s loan from Vanarama National League South side Chelmsford City.

Haines made a number of appearances for Northampton Town’s reserves during the 2007/08 campaign after spells with West Ham United and Southend United in their younger youth age groups.

This preceded a move to Grays Athletic, who were then in the Conference National the following season.

He moved to Chelmsford during the 2009/10 pre-season, becoming the club’s young player of the year, and is currently the club’s longest-serving player, having made nearly 250 appearances for the Club.

He is expected to be in the Blues squad for Boxing Day’s home derby against Harlow Town.
