Macclesfield Town have announced that defender Andy Halls has signed a new contract with the club

The 24-year-old, who started his career with local rivals Stockport County, has signed a new deal keeping him with the Silkmen for the 2016/17 campaign.

Right-back Halls has been a regular for the Macc side ever since his arrival at the Moss Rose in the summer of 2013.

He has made over 100 National League starts for the club, with forty-two of them coming last season for John Askey’s side.

Halls, who has also operated in the centre of defence, at left-back and in midfield, will now look to continue his progression over the next twelve months.

The England C international becomes the tenth Silkmen player from last season to agree new a new deal with the club, while Askey has also re-signed former Macclesfield winger Jack Mackreth from Tranmere Rovers.
