Dulwich Hamlet striker Daniel Carr has left the club on a free transfer to join Karlstad BK of Sweden’s Division 2 Norra Götaland
After re-joining the Dulwich Hamlet in the summer after being released by Cambridge United, Carr netted nine goals in 32 games before joining Leatherhead on loan for three months, for whom he scored eight times. He returned to Dulwich Hamlet at the end of March 2017, amid reports that the club were negotiating a move to transfer Carr to Karlstad BK.
Having spent time on trial with the fourth-tier Swedish club prior to re-joining Dulwich Hamlet in the summer, Carr proved a key acquisition for Karlstad BK when he began available following the end of his loan spell with Dulwich’s Ryman League Premier Division rivals. KBK’s manager Gaz Bahtiri was quoted by the club’s website as saying, “Daniel was here and trialled with KBK at the beginning of the season showing versatility as well as cutting edge skills. As an offensive player he is fast, strong and good at relationships… The 23-year-old is seen as highly developable.”.
Carr made his first appearance for Karlstad at the weekend as the side won a pre-season friendly 2-0 against Nordvärmlands FF, coming close to grabbing a goal. Karlstad open their 2017 season this coming Saturday April 8th when they travel to Grebbestads IF.
