Truro City’s dream of promotion from National League South ended in extra time heartbreak at the Beveree Stadium in Middlesex on Wednesday night as they were left to rue a missed second-half penalty.

Hampton substitute Bradley Hudson-Odoi was the home side’s matchwinner, as he struck twice in each period of extra time to clinch a semi-final play-off place for The Beavers at Cheltenham City on Sunday, after the teams were deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes.

Braintree Town, meanwhile won a penalty shoot-out, after a goalless draw at Hemel Hempstead Town, to advance.
