Hampton & Richmond Borough have announced the signing of midfielder Jake Gray from Woking.
Highly regarded by Alan Dowson and the Woking management, the 23-year-old started his career coming through the Wycombe Wanderers youth system, before joining Crystal Palace in 2012, signing his first senior contract with the Eagles in 2013.
Gray wasn’t able to make an appearance for Palace and had loan spells at Cheltenham Town and Hartlepool United before moving to League Two Luton Town in 2016.
He made 19 appearances for the Hatters that season and then joined League Two rivals Yeovil Town in 2017, where he became an important part of the squad, making 56 appearances in the green and white shirt.
In August of this year, he joined Woking but hasn’t been able to break into the first team.
As the deal was completed ahead of the 12 noon eligibility deadline, Gray will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s FA Cup game at Chesham United.
