Hartlepool United boss Craig Harrison failed with two bids to sign Wrexham two-goal hero Scott Quigley this season.
Dragons’ debutant Quigley, who pounced on some schoolboy errors from the Pools backline to net a second half, match-winning brace, could easily have been wearing the blue and white of Pools. Harrison, who had Quigley at The New Saints, revealed he tried to land the big forward on a permanent deal last summer, as well as trying to get him in on loan from Blackpool.
“Scott Quigley scored two, I know his qualities – I gave him his debut,” said Harrison. “I’ve managed him for five years and tried to sign him here on loan and permanent, but it didn’t work out for us.”
